Cedar Rapids Performance Company
CRPC Through the Years

1997

First year of Cedar Rapids Performance Company with one dance team and 12 girls. We rehearsed at Theater Cedar Rapids and performed with a portable stereo.

1998

We added vocals!! CRPC had 3 groups this year. One dance team, "Danzco", a younger show choir, "Youth Energy", and a high school show choir, "Impulse". We were about 30 members strong. Each group had their own show and all performed separately. We traveled with limited sound equipment in an old pick-up truck.

1999

All of the groups were combined into one show this year "A Journey Through Time with Music" It started with music from the early 1900’s and went through each decade. We expanded to 3 show choirs and 2 dance teams and the company about doubled in size. We now had a more extensive sound system and a trailer to haul it in!

2000

We expanded yet again by adding a 3rd dance team. We had many props this year with a HOT show called "Celebrate Summer". All of the music revolved around the wonderful aspects of summer. Our company grew to almost 100 members. We were lucky to have two vocal directors, Vicky Muter-King and Amanda Freese, as well as an assistant choreographer, Kelly Bartlett.

2001

This year we never stopped with our show "Keep On Movin' ". About 150 members sang and danced about cars, planes, trains, motorcycles, boats, walking, running, jumping, and rolling. With the same two vocal directors, and 2 assistant choreographers, Regan Hatfield and Dani Garretson, and a technical director, Terry Chalupsky, the show was a success!!!!!!

2002

CRPC soared to new heights with an emotional yet energizing patriotic show "Celebrate America" Vocal Directors, Vicky Muters-King and new addition, Tracie Hodina, helped install a sense of pride in our members and families. The kids shined with every performance and a true feeling of patriotism was felt by all.

2003

In 2003 we tuned into radio and did "kCRPC fm 200.3 Retro Hits of the 80's" We had a blast Rockin' and Rollin' to 80's music. We added 2 dance teams and 150 kids did the Roger rabbit, the snake, the cabbage patch and the running man. We had a blast! It was, like, so excellent! 2003 Christmas Carols: This year we added something new. 30 members were chosen to continue performing during the winter season and we put together our first christmas show- “Forever Christmas”, complete with Elvis, Suzy Snowflake and Rudolph.

2004

In 2004 we "Danced to the Music". 165 kids sang and danced and danced and danced some more as we performed to over 50 songs that had to do with DANCE. We had so much fun that we added both a show choir and a dance team. This winter season, we again had 30 kids continue performing and we put together a winter show celebrating all of the winter holidays. It truly was “A Holiday to Remember” as we celebrated Kwanza, Hanukkah, and Christmas, wishing everyone “Feliz Navidad”.

2005

CRPC on Broadway! What a year, lots of music celebrating all of the wonderful braodway musicals. We had 3 show choirs and 4 dance teams and finished with the big number “One” from “A Chorus Line”. It was a smashing hit! Better than Cats! I’d see it again and again!

2006

Celebrate 10 Years of CRPC!! WOW! 10 years! There was so much music to choose from but Vocal Director Vicky Muters ; Dance Director Kelly Bartlett; Assistant, Dani Showalter; and I resurrected some really fun numbers from the last 9 years. 135 kids had a blast and old members strolled down memory lane.

2007

One Hit Wonders! This year we turned to VHI for a complete list of one hit wonders and we had a great time singing and dancing to these great tunes! Regan Bloomquist was the Dance Director, and of course Vicky was teaching vocals! We revamped the program this year and changed it to K-9th grade to prepare kids for high school activites. It was a very successful summer!
