You get to work with Vicky and Trish, someone other than your normal teachers, directors, coaches. The best dancers, singers, and performers take classes from a variety of teachers.
You continue singing and dancing through the summer. This keeps you in shape and gives you the upper hand when you go back to school or dance in the fall.
CRPC prepares you for other auditions, giving you a chance to practice auditioning.
Performing 15 times during the summer increases your self-confidence on stage. Many dance studios only perform 2 or 3 times and most show choirs only 5-8 times during the year. Being comfortable with performing will give you the edge you need!
Kids often worry about the time commitment, but once we get past the first week of summer, we only meet once a week for a couple of hours and then perform once a week usually on the weekend. A performance takes about 3 hours of your time from when you leave the house until you return. Most kids have a spare 5 hours during their week even if they are working a 40 hour/week job. Kids doing CRPC do not get bored during the summer.
CRPC does lots of fun family activities like a pool party, bowling night, day at Lost Island, and a night at the Kernels game. The kids have a blast and the parents love mingling with each other.
Members in CRPC meet kids form other dance studios and schools. This is especially fun when it comes to competition time. I have found that the kids will cheer for each other even when they are competing against each other. This sense of camaraderie has been one of my favorite things about CRPC and is what I hear most about from the kids!
